History
Inaugurated on 27th June 2007, in occasion of the 27th anniversary of the massacre, the Museo per la Memoria di Ustica, established thanks to the strong determination of the Associazione dei Parenti delle Vittime della Strage di Ustica (Association of the Relatives of the Victims of the Massacre of Ustica) and of the city of Bologna, has been designed by the architect Gianpaolo Mazzuccato.
The remains of the DC9 Itavia, which in 1980 crashed into the sea during the flight Bologna – Palermo causing the death of 81 passengers, has been collected, transported and reassembled in the wide spaces of the former ATC warehouses.
