Bookshop
Introduction
CorrainiMAMbo is MAMbo’s new bookshop. Also accessible through an independent entrance in via Don Minzoni, corrainiMAMbo offers the public a wide selection of books with a focus on art, design, architecture, illustration and cinema: specifically picked among the best of both the Italian and the international market, always up-to-date and with an eye to the most recent publications. A special section is wholly devoted to high-quality children’s books, both Italian and international, with a focus on artists’ books for children. CorrainiMAMbo is also another outlet for the Museum’s research and experimentations, with a constant synergy between the bookshops’ offer and the temporary exhibitions hosted by the Museum, its permanent collection, its educational section and its library. The bookshop will also feature MAMbo’s catalogues and publications, as well as assist its customers in locating out-of-print or hard-to-find titles. The books will be displayed in specific artists’ and designers’ shelvings and pieces of furniture; these, alongside a selection of objects, will also be on sale. A rich schedule of talks and adults’ and children’s workshops focused on the contaminations and overlappings between artistic languages will accompany the bookshop’s activity, in parallel with the Museum’s program, making it a fundamental point of reference in the city’s cultural landscape.
MAMbo’s bookshop is provided by Edizioni Corraini. Born out of the homonymous gallery, Edizioni Corraini is a publishing workshop devoted to research and experimentations, open to Italian and international artists, illustrators and designers. Among its many collaborations, the one with Bruno Munari is undoubtedly noteworthy: the multifaceted artist has had an ongoing collaboration with Corraini for many years, making it a workshop for fantasy and creativity. Edizioni Corraini’s publishing activity focuses on images, art, illustration and design; their experience with Bruno Munari has brought them to grant a special attention to artists’ books for children. Corraini books are distributed in bookshops and in the best art and design venues worldwide.
